I actually debated putting this here but my kids love it so much I had to!
Materials:
Ziplock Bags
Clothes Pins (Click here to get it!)
Pipe Cleaners (Various Colors) (Click here to get it!)
Paint
7mm Plastic Eyes (Click here to get it!)
Glue
Directions:
Take several wooden (works best) or plastic clothes pins and put them on some newspaper. Paint them to look like the bodies of what will be butterflies.
Take 1 colored pipe cleaner and cut it into about 4 inch pieces. Use 2 of these and curl the ends to look like antennas. Place the remaining straight end into the mouth of the clothes pin and glue to one side on the inside or out whichever you prefer.
Glue eyes to the top of the clothespin.
Fill the ziplock bag about 3/4 full of their favorite colorful snack. Again be creative..we have used strawberries and blueberries. As well as goldfish and grapes.
Place the clothes pin in the center of the ziplock bag as in the image above and voila…instant butterfly.
Another idea is to make a puppy face on the clothespin and the ziplock becomes big ears! Looks great with cookies…though we don’t typically let them have those….I know mean parents…lol.
Yet another is to color the pin like an elephant and again the ziplock becomes the ears! Experiment and be creative….you might make something amazing!!
Get the kids involved in this one…they will love it and you can’t buy bonding time!
